Are you traveling for the holidays?
It's hard to believe that Halloween is almost here and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It seems as if the retailers have already celebrating the holidays this year by putting Christmas displays up in mid October. Yikes!
Well, I might as well hop on the bandwagon and remind you that if you are one of the lucky ones traveling somewhere warm this year for the holidays to place your sarong orders now. This will not only allow you to get the best selection but also saves you money on express shipping. Everyone is watching their budgets closely and every dollar counts!

We can ship your sarong to the hotel!
As I have mentioned in previous blogs, over 25% of our sarong shipments are expedited in 3 days or faster. Often us ladies pack the night before (or if you're like me the morning of ) and realize we don't have what we need. What's worse is thinking you'll grab something when you get where you're going. I can tell you from experience it never happens and it can put a damper on your vacation. We have been shipping directly to hotels for this exact reason. We would need to know the hotel's address, the guest name that the room is under, and your arrival date. Just put the hotel info in the ship to address of our checkout form. So far we have never missed a vacation and our customers are ecstatic to get the sarong when they check in. At Sassy Sarongs, we will do whatever it takes to make our customers happy.

Don't Wait, Memorial Day is May 25th
Did you know that almost 25% of our orders at Sassy Sarongs are expedited shipping? I've done it many times myself, I start packing for my vacation and realize I don't have everything needed. Sometimes our lives are so busy, it's difficult to be proactive. Shopping is often the bottom of our busy to do list.
With your Memorial Day plans most likely in place, DON"T WAIT! Sarong orders must be placed by May 14th in order to ship via UPS ground.
Don't worry, if you do find yourself in a "pinch" at the last minute we still offer 3 day, 2 day, and next day delivery.
Our sarongs get some play
I am excited to announce that our sarongs have been chosen by the drama department at Northern Essex Community College as the costume for an upcoming production. They chose the graphic print sarong for all cast members. Unfortunately, the play takes place in Massachusetts so I won't be able to see it live. I am anxiously awaiting photos! If anyone happens to attend the event, I'd love to hear how they looked.

What exactly is a sarong?
It's a funny thing when I try to explain what type of business I'm in, especially to men. I've tried it several different ways but most men have never heard of a sarong. To the men reading this blog and actually know what a sarong is...well, kudos to you. You're a little more fashion forward than most. Anyhow, I say that "I have a website that sells sarongs, a sarong is a wrap that women wear over their swimsuit, I'm sure you have seen them before...you know...they tie at the waist" Oh yea, they finally figure it out.
The sarong is actually a really interesting thing, it is a piece of clothing that truly has a long history and is a garment that is worn all over the world. And yes, in most other countries it is worn by men also.
I'd say in the last 10 years or so, the importance of the sarong has been over looked. Some of the major retailers aren't even carrying sarongs anymore. It's really the perfect accessory, great for travel and everyday use. It's so easy to look slouchy these days in lieu of something comfy and easy, but sarongs really take your look to another level. We all want to feel pretty.....and we are.

As of January 2009, Sassy Sarongs can now ship to Canada for $20.00! I was excited to expand my business to our friends up north and the response has been great! Word is that Canadians love to have fun in the sun!
In addition, I have added shipping to any military base for $4.95 using US postal. When making a purchase at the checkout, just select the appropiate military base location. I'm proud to say that our first sarong shipment went to Korea!

When I first started Sassy Sarongs several years ago, I never made the connection between sarongs and weddings. Now, it seems like a no brainer. I've done several special orders for brides that are getting married at the beach. The sarongs have been used as gifts for the bridesmaid or as a gift given to those that attend the bridal shower. They also make a great gift for the bride herself, a girl can never have too many cover ups while traveling.

This month I have expanded the Sassy Sarongs assortment to includ more brands such as La Palapa, Divas, Sauvage, and Peppermint Bay in expectation of a busy 2009 swim season.
